The Heirs by Susan Rieger
Hello 2018! I am so happy and grateful to be entering 2018 as a blogger and reviewer. I just know it will be a fantastic year and to start it off, Blogging for Books has given me The Heirs by Susan Rieger, a contemporary novel featuring a family full of weath and just as much drama.
I honestly wasn't a huge fan of this one, but it was good in its own right. The book was well written, the plot was well defined, and the characters were perfectly described. This novel is about the Falkes family mourning the loss of their husband and father, Rubert Falkes, when a woman named Vera enters the picture, claiming that her and Rupert had two children with her and therefore her sons are entitled to a portion of his wealth.
The novel was a mix of the past and present as we follow several points of view and even if I wasn't a fan of the book, it really was beautifully written. It was heart-warming and at times funny and I feel if you enjoy contemporary novels about wealthy families, you'll absolutely love this novel.
