Nadia Murad has survived a plethora of horrors at the hands of ISIS, and is fighting back against them, both in court and also by telling her story. I can't do justice to her strength and courage in a small review like this one. Her book is heart-rending, not least because she tells her story simply and matter-of-factly, carefully contextualizing information that would slip past an average reader. I absolutely recommend this book, but I also think it's important to know that there's a lot of violence, including rape, contained within. Only take this book on once you're emotionally prepared.
