The Tunnels is a gripping non-fiction book. The writing is excellent and the subject matter is relentlessly captivating. The history is thrilling in itself and the way it is presented continues the tradition. The true stories of people escaping under the Berlin wall brings you to another time, that, in a way, doesn’t necessarily seem so far off at the moment. I never knew of the American media’s involvement in the tunnels which was an incredible story as well. This book made me want to explore other books both written by the author and on the Cold War. I received this book from Blogging for Books for this honest review.
