This is a spoiler free review of The Fifth Petal by Brunonia Barry.

I gave this book 4/5 stars.

When I first read the synopsis I was super intrigued. This book takes place in Salem, Massachusetts, home of the famous Salem Witch Trials. I've always been interested in the Witch Trials and this book did not let me down.

After the mysterious death of a teenage boy on Halloween night, Salem's police chief, John Rafferty, tries to find a link between this case and "The Goddess Murders". "The Goddess Murders" was a triple homicide in which three young women, who were all descendants of accused Salem witches, were murdered on Halloween night.

This book was faced paced and full of witchcraft. It was very well written and has great plot development. If you're a fan of witchcraft, the Salem Witch Trials, and history's reoccurring role in the present, than this book is perfect for you.
