Chasing Phil by David Howard is the story of two green-horn FBI agents that got in way over their heads.  An idea to investigate turns into an international investigation of swindling that reached levels the agents could not have imagined in their wildest dreams.   Phil Kitzer, a charming con man, becomes someone that even the agents could admire.

The agents manage to become a part of Kitzer's inner circle.  This involved a great sense of trust by a man with an uncanny ability to feel betrayal and dishonesty.   Yet they pull it off.   Wearing wires in many places where they would have been executed if they were found out, adds to the nervous moments the agents faced.

The agents realized their mistake of using their own names and had to make calls to change their credit history to make them appear that they were much more prosperous than they were.

Lies, deceit and so much more keep this story moving along.   You can feel the tension in the rooms when meetings are going on.  The long hours and the amount of alcohol consumed add to the fatigue and the chance that these agents will be caught.

Chasing Phil reveals how a con man operates and how the cycle must continue to keep everything afloat.

I received this book from the publisher in return for an honest review.
