Looking for a change to your standard potluck casseroles?  Check out Modern Potluck by Kristin Donnelly.  Donnelly puts delicious spins on classic recipes, like smoky deviled eggs with toasted rosemary and butternut squash mac & cheese.  This cookbook is beautifully photographed and even provides the rules of potluck.  Apparently, there is more to potlucking than meets the eye.

The book provides recipes for snacks, dips and drinks, main-course salads and room-temp main dishes, slow-cooked or severed hot, the 9x13-inch pan, supporting-role salads and sides, baked and savory, and sweets.  There is even a section on condiments and other things in jars.  All of the recipes are inventive and not overly complex.  You won't be required to buy crazy ingredients that you'll only use once.  Instead the book focuses on fresh ingredients.

Great way to change things up! I would highly recommend.  I received this book from Blogging for Books for this review.
