The Love Code: The Secret Principle to Achieving Success in Life, Love and Happiness by Alexander Loyd, Phd., ND (2015) is a guidebook to uncover what is blocking your success supplemented with tools to use the Love Code to get what you want. It is so simplistic. The Love Code is summarized as being “Do whatever you do from an inward state of love, focusing on the present moment. The material is presented in a clear format, but the guidance is somewhat sketchy.

Loyd describes three tools: energy medicine, reprogramming statements, and the heart screen as methods to help you attain love and happiness. None of this material seems especially new or groundbreaking and much of it lacks substantiation. You will need staying power with this program because it outlines a 40-day program for full benefits.

One limitation of the book is its presumptuous claim to being the “definitive self-help program” that will help you succeed despite the 97 percent failure rate of most self-help programs. Yet, the author does not provide convincing evidence or statistics that fully back up his claim, though he does state that he has waiting lists for his services. This book was previously published as Beyond Willpower.  I received this book from Blogging for Books for this review.
