Sometimes Fact is Better Than Fiction

When I requested this book, I was vaguely aware of Martin Luther and had no earthly idea that he married. He was married to a runaway nun no less. I read the first chapter and I was interested. I read an article about the real life relationship between Martin Luther and Katharina von Bora and my bubble was popped. The book seemed rather extravagant and did not stick to history at all. The writing was flowery and the romance seemed forced. I wasn't that enamored but applaud the author for writing an unknown "love story". I glad she was able to educate some readers about the Reformation, albeit highly romanticized and fictitious, but I wasn't that impressed. Hooray for runaway nuns!
