Tacos: Recipes and Provocations is a cookbook by Alex Stupak and Jordana Rothman.  The book is divided into three sections.  The first one is tortillas.  There is an incredible amount of information on making all kinds of tortillas.  In this section you can find things like step by step photos on making corn tortillas, recipes for non-traditional tortillas and even advice on the best ways to store your tortillas.  The second sections is on salsas.  It is filled with recipes for many unique salsas like salsa borracha and argan oil mole.    The third and largest section of the book is the tacos.  It is filled with all kinds of different and unique recipes like chicken wing tacos with salsa macha, picadillo tacos with salsa de arbol, and sea urchin guacamole tacos with sea urchin salsa.
This is a beautiful cookbook with lots of full color photos.  The recipes are very in depth and some are a couple of pages long.  Also many unique ingredients are used.  If you are looking for something out of the ordinary in Mexican cooking this cookbook would definitely suffice.
I received this book for free from Blogging for Books for review.
