I found the description of The Orphan King so fascinating that I felt I HAD to read it. "A cryptic knight, a child thief, and a beautiful silent woman"?! It definitely had me curious!
I hate to say that I had a hard time getting into the book. To give the book a fair chance, I kept going to other books, and then coming back to it. It just wasn't working for me. It's not that I thought it was bad! It's just that I had no connection to the book. I could have easily left it, and not really cared what happened.
All of that said, I do think that teen guys(and girls) would enjoy it more than I was able to right now.
I did find it interesting to learn that this series is a re-write from an older series, but with new added in scenes.
