Sasha Davis and Evelyn Burt are two women struggling with life. Sasha is a ballerina trying to recover from a crippling accident that has cost her both her family and her career. Evelyn is on her own for the first time in her young life, alienated from her father by his disapproval of her decision to skip college and become engaged to her boyfriend.

When Evelyn moves in as her aide, Sasha can barely tolerate Evelyn’s enthusiasm and efficiency. Evelyn is tenacious, and as Sasha’s doctors work to restore her body, Evelyn’s attitude works on her spirit. As the two women become unlikely allies, will Evelyn allow Sasha to help her as she has helped Sasha?

At the heart of this insightful story is the question, how do you go on when you can no longer do what you love? This story is especially poignant for anyone in athletics or performance arts where injury can redefine or end a career at a young age.

This is Baumbich’s third Snowglobe Connections book. I have never read this author before but will now look for her other titles.

I received this book for free from WaterBrook Multnomah Publishing Group Blogging for Books program for this review.
